Waste does not exist

In our factory, our waste is segregated for 99%. If material remains which cannot directly be reused are returned from an application, the material is processed to a usable new product such as Cradle 2 Cradle Grey.

Besides, all empty cans and drums are cleaned and reused after use. Packaging which is unusable due to damage is collected by a professional waste processor who shreds it and prepares it for use in other products.

Our waste processors are also carefully selected. Bolidt's principle is that waste does not exist. Our waste flows always have a residual value for reuse and/or energy. In this manner, all our waste material gets a second life.

Paper is recycled and B grade wood is processed into paper or wood chips.

Broken pallets are repaired, building and demolition waste is segregated and reused in road construction.

Drums are drained, cleaned and reused. Cans with soiled content are segregated and burnt. This supplies new energy. The tin is shredded and returns to the steel industry.

Bolidt has own waste collection facilities at a number of locations. All cans are cleaned 100% here in a nitrogen bath, and recycled.
Empty mixing cans are considered scrap and are processed into new iron products.

Solvents/cleaning agents are distilled and the residue is burnt.
Chemical waste with content is burnt; both processes provide new energy.

Plastic packaging is segregated, cleaned and recycled into new plastic.

Besides, there are developments in progress to, in the future, make the agents which are used to clean cans and jerry cans as environmentally friendly as possible. At the moment, the cleaning agents used to fully clean cans are collected for reuse.

The application machines designed by Bolidt themselves ensure that in an increasing number of projects, the work is done 100% without packaging materials.

In those cases where mixing cans are used, all remaining material is collected for reuse. In those cases in which the remaining material can harden (and is thus not classed as chemical waste), the environment is also spared. Developments in this realm are in progress.
